Description
A Pelvic Health Physical Therapist at CommonSpirit, serves as a vital specialist in restoring function and dignity to patients. This specialized therapist will aid patients to reclaim their quality of life from complex conditions like pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, GI disorders, and sexual dysfunction.
This role provides:
- True One-to-One Care: Unlike traditional high-volume clinics, you will have full 60-minute visits with every patient, allowing for deep clinical assessment and the building of meaningful therapeutic alliances.
- Diverse Clinical Exposure: You will treat a high-acuity caseload with direct referrals from our specialized centers, including Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cancer Center (breast, prostate, and urogynecologic), Abdominal/Hernia Surgery, and GI Clinics.
- Professional Autonomy: Use your expert clinical judgment to provide internal assessments, manual therapy, biofeedback, and specialized exercise prescriptions.
Daily duties:
- Expert Evaluation: Perform comprehensive initial evaluations that look beyond the pelvic floor to include core, hip, and postural systems.
- Individualized Care Plans: Develop and evolve evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique goals, from surgical recovery to chronic pain management.
- Collaborative Excellence: Partner with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons and specialists within the CommonSpirit network to ensure seamless, holistic patient outcomes.
- Patient Advocacy: Empower patients and families through education on pain science, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques that sustain long-term results.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Internship or rotation in appropriate clinical setting, upon hire and
- Physical Therapist: AZ, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
- Specialized Expertise: A strong interest or formal training in pelvic health (e.g., Herman & Wallace or APTA Pelvic Health courses).
