Company Overview
CentraState Healthcare System, an Atlantic Health System partner, is fully accredited, not-for-profit, community-based health system that provides comprehensive health services located in Freehold, New Jersey, (Monmouth County) in the Central Jersey region. In addition to offering a full range of leading-edge diagnostic and treatment options, CentraState serves as a valuable health partner focused on the latest ways to prevent disease, promote healthy behaviors, and help people of all ages live life well.
The system includes a 284-bed acute-care hospital, a vibrant health and wellness campus, three award-winning senior living communities, a charitable foundation and a residency training program for family practice physicians and geriatric fellows in affiliation with the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. CentraState Medical Center has been awarded its fourth Magnet© designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, placing CentraState in an elite group of less than 2% of hospitals in the nation to have earned Magnet recognition four consecutive times.
Our four health pavilions, located in Marlboro, Monroe, Jackson and East Windsor, offer convenient access to primary and specialty care services right in your neighborhood. Locations include primary care, urgent care and women’s health services from Family Practice of CentraState, Women’s Health Specialists of CentraState and Immediate Care Urgent Care, along with physical therapy and laboratory services.
Company History
In the early 1960s, a determined group of community members realized the need for a local hospital and healthcare services close to home. Ten years of hard work, planning, and fundraising by the community made this vision a reality. On September 20, 1971, what was then known as Greater Freehold Area Hospital – built on farmland – opened the doors to our very first patients. Fifty years later, it’s incredible to see how CentraState Healthcare System has flourished.
With humble roots cultivated by these passionate community members, CentraState grew from a 120-bed rural hospital to a leading regional healthcare organization that provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art health services. Today, CentraState is here for the Central Jersey region with a 284-bed acute-care hospital, a vibrant health and wellness campus, three award-winning senior living communities, a charitable foundation, and four local satellite health pavilions. We focus on providing innovative, specialized care and treatment in various medical disciplines while staying true to our deep-rooted sense of community.
