NP with 3-5 years of experience preferred. If new grad, previous RN work in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery setting required.On-the-job training for qualified candidates will be available.

Our Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery team features excellent support staff, including an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers that assist with rounding, dictation, case management, and surgical first assists. CV Surgery workflow includes APPs taking first call from ICU and all units with surgeon back-up.
Occasional travel between hospitals.
Full-time and Part-time positions available.
Must have an IN license.
Duties included but not limited to:
Cardiothoracic/Vascular Surgery call coverage.
Cardiothoracic/Vascular Clinic staffing.
Performing comprehensive consultation, differential diagnosis and treatment planning, history and physical, discharge, work-up, and pre- and post-operative care of patients. Support of surgeon providing surgical management to correct or treat various conditions, illnesses and injuries of conditions including the diseases or conditions of the cardiac system, chest wall, thoracic cavity, lungs, diaphragm, and peripheral vascular diseases. Removal of chest tubes and pacing wires post-operatively. Office consultation and post-op follow up visits independently and in conjunction with surgeon.
Assist with overall management of patients in collaboration with other members of the health care team.
Participation in an effective clinical program with attention to patient outcome indicators.
Practice within the scope of assigned privileges.
Meet medical staff criteria for initial appointment and reappointment, including ongoing CME.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the states of Indiana and Illinois by the Indiana and Illinois Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
